Subject: New Release Files
Hello All,

I was trying to find a list of the configuration files which can be copied from one software release to the next to save a person from having to re-enter settings for their equipment, such as User Buttons, screen selection, etc., particularly for KMotionCNC.

Could I bother someone to let me know which files can be carried forward without causing problems within a new version release?

Thanks a bunch,
David.

David
you need to dopy files in the data folder
you will find it here,
Kmotion 4**/Kmotion/data
I usually copy the folder to desktop, rename to something like "dataDec22" then after the new install I open it and copy all files into the new data folder,,overwrite all.
hope that helps
Carl

Hi David,

Copying the directory often works or gets the settings close, But sometimes between versions when new parameters are added the format of the file changes and the new Version won't read the old file properly.  In that case you may need to add the new line(s) into the old file.  We discussed this here:
